Terms of Service

Last updated: 14 October 2026

Housekeeping is operated by David Hutchinson. Contact hello@myhousekeepingapp.co.uk. These terms explain the conditions for using our household planner at app.myhousekeepingapp.co.uk and its introduction website.

Using Housekeeping

Housekeeping helps organise household chores, recurring routines, assignments and reminders. Use accurate account information, keep your Google account secure, and tell us if you suspect unauthorised access. Google sign-in is subject to Google’s own account requirements. An adult should manage a family household and supervise use by children; the app does not verify age or parental relationships.

Household membership

A new registration creates a private household. Owners can invite people, manage household permissions and remove members. Only invite people you have a legitimate reason to contact. Invitees must sign in with the matching email and accept. Membership makes shared household information visible to other members as described in our Privacy Policy. Removal ends access but does not automatically delete an account, shared chores or historical records.

Your content and acceptable use

You keep ownership of the content you enter. You give us permission to store, process, display and transmit it as necessary to provide and secure Housekeeping. Only upload photos and other information you have permission to use. Do not use the service for unlawful activity, harassment, spam, abusive monitoring, impersonation, malicious code, or attempts to access another household. Do not enter sensitive information unnecessary for organising chores. Household members are responsible for the accuracy of their tasks and fair use of shared information.

Notifications and availability

Reminders depend on your settings, browser, installation, connectivity and external delivery services. They may arrive late or fail, and are not suitable for emergencies, medication, safety-critical duties or other situations requiring guaranteed delivery. Schedule important obligations independently. We aim to keep the service useful and available, but maintenance, faults and provider interruptions may affect it. Keep a separate copy of information you cannot afford to lose.

Charges and changes

The current service has no app subscription payment flow. Your internet or device provider may charge you for connectivity. If we introduce paid features, their price and relevant terms will be presented before you choose to buy them; these terms do not authorise a future charge. We may improve or change features and will aim to give reasonable notice of significant changes or closure where practical.

Ending use and enforcement

You can stop using the app and ask us to delete your personal information using the contact address above. We may restrict access where necessary to address unlawful use, security risks or material breaches of these terms. Where practical, we will explain the reason and let you contact us to challenge a mistake. The privacy policy explains the limits of household removal, soft deletion and backup retention.

Responsibility and your legal rights

We will take reasonable care in providing the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence, or limits your mandatory consumer rights. We are not responsible for household disputes or losses caused by your misuse of the service. Responsibility for any other loss is determined under applicable law; these terms do not impose a blanket exclusion of liability.

Privacy, questions and updates

Our Privacy Policy explains personal information, cookies, notifications and your rights. Please contact us first about a problem so we can try to resolve it. Nothing here removes your right to use any court, regulator or other remedy available under the laws that apply to you. We will publish updated terms here and notify users of material changes where appropriate.
